Past Hosta Tea Gardens
Hosta Teas 2021
Because the Hosta Breakfasts have been so popular, we extended the notion into the summertime with HOSTA TEAS in members’ gardens that you may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit.
What is a hosta tea? It is a planned visit to a member garden, usually with light refreshments. The garden is usually open for four hours between 1 pm and 5 pm, but it’s totally up to the gardener. Members are encouraged to visit during the afternoon, but not for the entire four hours. Just drop in, take a look around and enjoy light refreshments and maybe have a relax to gossip for a bit.
As the time draws near, watch for a HOSTA FLASH with “extras”…. other gardens, nurseries, restaurants and destinations in that area so that you can fill your afternoon

'DRAGON'S DEN' - the gardens of Beth and Brian Kreutzer
As you approach the house, you see a front walkway lined with giant, colorful zinnias which leads you to the waterfall by the house. Twisty Baby Black Locust and a Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick tree and an Alley Cat Redbud further adorn the front. Following the sidewalk around to the back yard, there is an evolving pollinator garden along the garage. Over the gate to the back, LOOK UP for Sir Arthur Henry Chester the Third, the friendly fire-breathing dragon.
There is a new “dragon-themed” hosta garden in the back. Relax under the pergola and enjoy the babbling brook. On the main deck is the penny bar and table, covered in over 14,000 pennies. The deck overlooks the koi pond. Interesting garden art throughout.

An array of perennials provides a plethora of color throughout the season. After visiting the multitude of gardens containing over 1,000 perennials, hike through the wooded paths to take in nature at its best as the creek flows gently in the midst. Listen to the birds and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings.
