Daffodil and Hosta Society of Western PA
 and Western New York Hosta Society presented the twenty first Annual Fall Hosta Forum at the Frank G. Pogue Student Center at Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA

The 2018 theme was based on why we love hostas and their companions to begin with…. Because they are fun, you are fun, it’s ALL fun and surf’s up. Yes, for those of us who loved the Beach Boys, the theme was... (which has nothing to do with hostas, conifers or clematis)! 

  • Glenn Herold   - Hosta of the Year
    Glenn traced the history of the Hosta of the Year program, with emphasis
    on the origin and parentage of the nominees and characteristics they contributed to the awardee.
  • Cindy Tibbetts  - Clematis: Queen of the Flowering Vines
    Cindy removed the mystery from glowing clematis, sharing tips for selection, placement, planting and pruning in her presentation.
     
  • Chris Law   -  Surf’s Up for Woodies!
    Presented The do’s and don’t’s for success, and 365 days of color and structure in the garden with conifers and acers to complement your perennial and hosta garden. 
     
  • Mike Shadrack - Hostas in Containers
    Mike presented on the matching of plant with container, mixing potting compost, best techniques for wintering and the artful placement of plants in the garden
