19th Annual Fall Hosta Forum
American Bandstand for a “Rockin’ Fall Hosta Forum”

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th

Plus Dinner & Program, Friday night – 9/16/16

Edinboro University – 219 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA

Daffodil and Hosta Society of Western PA and Western New York Hosta Society are happy to present the nineteenth Annual Fall Hosta Forum. You will notice (for those who have been regulars) that we are no longer at the Riverside Inn. Our Pittsburgh partners worked very hard in locating an alternate venue and a few years ago, we moved to the Frank G. Pogue Student Center at Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA. It exceeded our expectations and with the small inconvenience of having to move between hotel and venue, we are thrilled with our new digs.

In this new venue, everything takes place in one enormous room – talks, vending and auctions. It has worked like a dream and so our Forum has entered a new era.

Furthermore, we have worked out a deal with the Edinboro COMFORT SUITES, 1007 Market Place Drive, Edinboro, PA 16412, (814 969-7000) to hold a block of rooms for us @ $109/night plus taxes. We will host a Hospitality Room there on Friday night for those who stay. We suggest you book ASAP if you plan on staying. We will be funding hospitality with a raffled “basket ‘o cheer”.

This year’s FALL HOSTA FORUM is coming together very nicely! As you know, the FHF is a one-day symposium co-sponsored by the WNY Hosta Society and the

As you can see, this year’s theme will be American Bandstand for a “Rockin’ Fall Hosta Forum” The point of the theme is really to tie the day together and to have a bit of fun…. So polish up your chrome, dig out your poodle skirt and grease up that pompadour….. We’re going to rock around the clock.

The HIT PARADE for this year includes:

Jeff “Big Bopper” Miller of Land of the Giants Hostas

Ron “Atomic Elvis” Livingston of the Fraternal Order of Seedy Fellows (FOoSF)

Len “Bo Diddley” Lehman - Rock Around the Garden (rock gardening) Chris

Chris “Buddy Holly” Wilhoite - Arisaemas and other Kookie Plants

And we’ve made some changes in the overall program, based upon those surveys that our regulars have diligently filled out.

We are not having a sit-down formal dinner this year, but rather lighter fare, pizza and salads…. on Friday Sept. 16th.  But you will still have an opportunity to visit the vendors and socialize Instead of a gift hosta, each Friday night attendee will receive a $5 voucher, good that night at any of the vendors.

And we are flattening the pay structure so to make it less of a puzzler - but you still get a discount for donating.
