The WNYHS was established in November 1996 for the purpose of promoting the genus Hosta,
and to help inform and educate the public on this wonderful and versatile plant.

"Japanese & Chinese Gardens" Presentation

Ran Lydell owns Eagle Bay Gardens in Dunkirk, NY where he hybridizes and sells hosta, specializing in blooms and slug resistant foliage. In addition to introducing some top selling hostas, he has an amazing collection of rare or specimen trees and shrubs.

In his his presentation he had talked about the Japanese and Chinese Gardens he visited, comparing and contrasting the designs of each.

Kathy Shadrack gave an informative talk on how to interpret various hosta catalogs.





A Short Business Meeting, Socializing, Coffee Hour, and a Bring and Buy Table were among the other activities shared at this meeting.
